Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster, the only declared Democrat running for governor, launched a social media campaign on Monday calling for the passage of a statewide non-discrimination law protecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals.

"No Missourian should be fired for who they love. Join Chris in the fight for equality," the candidate posted on his Facebook page with a link to a petition (see below).

The Missouri Non-discrimination Act (MONA), which would add LGBT protections to Missouri's Human Rights Statute regarding housing, employment and public accommodation, has been introduced in both chambers of the Missouri General Assembly since 1998.
