St. Louis LGBTQIA+ voters will get a chance to engage with several of the 2017 mayoral candidates at a Town Hall focusing on LGBTQIA+, education and community relations issues on Tues., Feb. 21 at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park.
St. Louis mayoral candidates Alderman Jeffrey Boyd, Alderman Antonio French, Treasurer Tishaura Jones, Alderwoman Lyda Krewson and Aldermanic Board President Lewis Reed will attend the Town Hall which will be held at SLCC's Forest Park Student Center Multipurpose Room from 6-8 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.). 150 seats are available.
Structure: each candidate has five (5) minutes to state their position, two (2) minutes to respond to questions, and three (3) minutes for closing remarks. Questions will be asked by a moderator, with additional questions fielded from the audience.
"The Mayoral Candidate Town Hall: LGBT and Education Issues" is a collaborative event from Pride St. Louis, St. Louis Community College, Metro Trans Umbrella Group (MTUG), #Boom Magazine, PROMO and St. Louis Black Pride. Each organization will have tables at the town hall meeting.
