ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Today, PROMO launched, a website created not only to help transgender Missourians with policy and updated laws happening across the state but to also educate the public on issues transgender, gender non-conforming and gender non-binary Missourians face daily.

Three anti-transgender bills have been filed in the Missouri state legislature this year. Two similar bills were filed during the 2015 session. One goal of this site is to help educate the public on these bills by outlining why they are harmful to transgender Missourians.

PROMO is dedicated to finding and creating opportunities to better the lives of transgender, gender non-conforming and non-binary Missourians. Within this site, users will find information about employment, health, identity documents, bathrooms, reporting discrimination and more. Users will also learn about many rights transgender Missourians already have, and how to be an ally to transgender family, friends and colleagues.

“I recently began to publicly transition, so this is incredibly important to me, both personally and professionally. I’m proud and grateful to work for an organization and with a team that is so passionate about trans-inclusion, and this project is an expression of that work,” Steph Perkins, Interim Executive Director of PROMO, said. “We hope this site is a complement to the many other organizations who provide important support and resources to the transgender community.”
