ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Registration is now underway for the second annual Midwest Queer Indigenous and People of Color Conference (QIPOCC) at Washington University, April 8-10, 2016.

The Midwest QIPOCC, organized by PLUS and Queer and Trans People of Color (QTPOC):STL in collaboration with Washington University, seeks to empower marginalized communities through education, advocacy and community building.

"We think that the mission of this conference, especially with it being hosted by universities each year and chaired by students and community members, is a way to heal relationships and empower QIPOC communities," said organizers. "At the inaugural conference at the University of Minnesota, we saw many higher education professionals doing intersectional LGBTQIA+ and racial justice work attend, present, and build power at this conference."

The Conference, an intersectional movement for racial, sexual, and gender justice, ensures vital space is held for QIPOC communities in the Midwest to access and share their voices, lived experience and stories. The weekend will include keynote speeches, break-out sessions, workshops, a resource fair, HIV testing and much more.

Conference organizers are currently seeking sponsorship to make the event accessible by keeping the registration cost to $5 for students, staff, faculty and community members across the Midwest.

Businesses, organizations or individuals interested in donating may do so via the QIPOCC PayPal link or by contacting This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for sponsorship tiers.
