CHARIS, The St. Louis Women’s Chorus is seeking applicants for a new Artistic Director (AD). The part-time paid position will begin on May 1, 2015.

The new AD will be responsible for the overall artistic preparation and performance of the Chorus. The Chorus rehearses on Tuesday evenings. It is a non-auditioned group comprised of 30 to 50 singing members with varying degrees of musical expertise.

“We need someone just as fabulous as Kourtney Strade to pick up where she will leave off after our Spring show,” the group posted on Facebook. “As some of you may already know, after five years of expert leadership, Kourtney will be on to another great adventure. We are so sad to see her go, but also greatly appreciative, proud of and excited for her! It could prove very difficult to replace her, so we thought we would ask you for help.”

CHARIS is a diverse group of women united in our mission to perform music that celebrates and encourages women and the LGBTQ community.

The Chorus, now in its 22nd year, sings both a cappella and accompanied music of various genres (e.g., pop, classical, jazz, blues, ethnic, folk, and traditional choral music).
