JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - On Monday, the Missouri Nondiscrimination Act (MONA) was introduced in the Missouri House of Representatives for the 21st consecutive year. The LGBTQ nondiscrimination legislation was first introduced by former Rep. Steve McLuckie (D-44-Kansas City) in 1998.

Metro Trans Umbrella Group (MTUG) will be hosting the second MTUG Telethon this weekend.


For 24 hours starting at noon on Saturday, December 8th until noon on Sunday, December 9th, the telethon will feature a variety of acts showcasing live music, performing and visual arts, interviews, and the very best the St. Louis trans, queer, and ally community has to offer. The goal for this year’s telethon is to raise $24,000 in 24 hours.

The 30th anniversary World AIDS Day will be observed in St. Louis with two events on Friday, Nov. 30th. World AIDS Day is held on December 1st each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
