The Hot House Sessions will kick off the first-ever Friday night PrideFest event as revelers bask in the glow of rainbow lit landmarks. The local house/jazz infusion collective reunites for the first time in six years on the Bud Light Entertainment Stage on Friday, June 26 at 9 p.m. and looks forward to the celebration.

Tell us how you are you feeling ahead of reuniting your band Hot House Sessions for PrideFest? When was the last time you performed together?HoutHouse

It has been more than 6 years since Hot House took the stage together as the full band. To say I'm excited is an understatement. Our energy as friends is fantastic and our enthusiasm to play is off the charts. We have all continued to perfect our craft in the interim and it will be fun to see all of that talent explode on stage for pride.

What do you have in store for PrideFest audiences?

My ex-husband [Chris Hansen] and I will be bringing the heat with my newest collection of dance tunes and his electrifying percussion. We will be reunited with Jeff Lash on Vibes (who has been on hiatus recently) and Kasimu Taylor [on trumpet]. We have been perfecting our rocking Latin House sound.

You'll be making a bit of pride history - it's the first ever Friday night event and PrideFest is now a three day festival. Tell us about your first LGBT pride memory?

Oh, wow - that's so tough to say - we have been performing in the LGBT community for longer than I can remember. The festival has always brought such color and life to our city. It's the one festival I can think of where the energy and love is flowing all over the place.

What song are you most looking forward to performing with the HHS?

We will probably do a version of "enfuego suite" which we recorded on our EP in 2003. it embodies the soul of St. Louis while bringing a high energy swing to a Latin House groove.

You'll be performing at St. Louis PrideFest.. what does PRIDE mean to the HHS?

Pride to me is loving self and loving others around you. I want every person in this city to be proud of who they are regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity or how society projects their beliefs on others - and I want our community to walk proudly in such diversity. The disco I am a part of currently, Nightchaser, believes in such acceptance - where everyone is welcomed and celebrated especially for their diversity. PrideFest creates an open forum for those freedoms and both myself and The Hot House Sessions are honored to be a part of such a wonderful event!
