ST. LOUIS -The Miss Gay St. Louis Missouri America 2014 pageant was held Feb. 2, 2014 at Hamburger Mary's in St. Louis. MGSL is a direct preliminary to Miss Gay Missouri America to be held April 10-12, 2014 at the Metropolitan Community Church of Greater St. Louis.

Contestants competed in the categories of Male Interview, Evening Gown, On Stage Question, Solo Talent and Long Talent. Congratulations to MGSL 2014 Robyn Hearts and First Alternate Dayonna Hilton who will go on to compete at the state pageant. Adajsha Devine placed second alternate or third place.

MGSL was started in 1971 by Monte Holmes at what would become Charlie’s Lounge in downtown St. Louis. The first winner of the storied female impersonation pageant was Miss Terry and the contest was originally called “Miss Downtown Gay St. Louis,” but later shortened to “Miss Gay St. Louis” when Lady Charles took over pageant in 1972. The pageant soon moved to Faces in East Saint Louis, Ill. for better crowds and became prelim to Miss Gay Missouri.

“It was the 8th year I had produced the event,” said Jade Sinclair, Miss Gay Missouri 2007. “I was thrilled with the support from the former Miss St. Louis title holders; the many Miss Gay Missouri’s who were in the crowd, as well as the wonderful audience of all ages.”

“The contestants were awesome, and watching I had no idea how the results would turn out,” Sinclair continued. “I am very pleased to work with Robyn and Dayonna, and sincerely hope to see Adajia also at Miss Gay Missouri in April.”
