ST. LOUIS, Mo. - On June 30 and July 1, 2018, Hamburger Mary’s St. Louis will be the setting for the 28th national Mr Gay America contest.

Mr Gay America was first established in 1983 as the Mr. Gay All-American contest by the owners of the Miss Gay America pageant, the world’s first, longest running and most prestigious female impersonation competition. The contest was started to provide a venue for gay men to showcase their intellect, community service, and talent launching careers in professional entertainment for many title holders. After a years-long hiatus, the newly rebranded Mr Gay America made its triumphant return last year and is now based in St. Louis.

The public is welcome to attend the Boys Night Out With the Mary’s Divas on Saturday, June 30th, for the spectacular Revue Show, and the final night, Sunday, July 1 at 4 p.m., when the contestants will compete and the new Mr Gay America will be crowned. Reservations are suggested.

For those wondering, the Mr Gay America pageant is family-friendly entertainment. Many of the contestants arrive with spouses, children, parents and cheering relatives in tow.

Heroes Villains and Fairy Tales

The evening's theme is "Heroes Villains and Fairy Tales", which contestants have been asked to interpret in their presentation costume. The theme is chosen each year by the reigning Mr Gay America.

Eighteen title holders from 9 state and regional preliminary competitions will compete in five rigorously judged categories to win the Mr Gay America 2018 medallion: Interview, Presentation (theme based costume), Red Carpet Fashion, On Stage Interview and Talent (big production number with costumes, sets and dancers).

The contest will honor the current Mr Gay America 2017, Kyle Ean, of Roanoke, VA. At the end of the night, July 1st, he will step down to pass on the title to Mr Gay America 2018.

Admission is only available at the door and seating is first come first serve. Visit for more information.
